The Deets

Let’s talk details. Planning a Bridal Shower is a great way for your ‘bride tribe’ to honor you, and just spend some girl time, relaxing & having fun! This tropical, tiki themed party had all the right stuff. Amazing bites, awesome cocktails, swag bags, a party poolside, and a gorgeous, yummy cake.

The color palette was full of bright, fun colors like fuchsia, coral, yellow, and green. The florals were all exotic, summery blooms. A lot of palm and banana leaves were also incorporated. Even some tropical fruits like mango & coconut. The cocktails were refreshing, like an island breeze… don’t worry, I have the recipe to 2 of them at the end of the post!

Creating some cute spots to lounge in and catch up is essential for this type of party. No one wants to sit on hard chairs or anything uncomfortable. Adding pops of color with throw pillows, blankets, greenery or flowers are easy additions to the look. Sometimes its the small details that make a big difference!

All the yummy food! Small bites were the big idea for this party. An opportunity to snack while trying a bit of everything. Mini Thai Beef Sliders,  Ahi Tuna, Melba Toasts with Goat Cheese, Papaya-Mango Salsa & Micro Greens, just to name a few. Give the food a beautiful presentation by garnishing with florals, banana leaf, or serve on a basket weave place mat.

Let’s Talk Cocktails!

CHEERS Girls! What’s a party without the signature umbrella cocktails?! This is where you can have some fun and get creative. Create a signature cocktail, give them fun names, and make them pretty colors. Garnish with fruit, like pineapple, bananas, and some cute little umbrellas. The two cocktails I have recipes for are the Island Bride and Tiki Dreams.

Let’s keep this party going! After all those small bites and cocktails, we are going to need CAKE! This Naked Cake is vanilla and coconut with a passionfruit frosting and filling. It was sweet and tart- amazingly perfect. Decorate with fruit  and florals to make it simple but beautiful.

Table Scape & Decor

The table scape is infused with small bursts of color on a white backdrop. Another key item is the low seating. Keep this cozy and comfy so you can lounge and relax by the pool while sipping cocktails, laughing and hanging out with the crew. You can also use fish rocks in the flower pots to add color, and multi color rugs to give that island feel.

Another cool idea: Bride Tribe Swag Bags. Making them island themed, adding the pops of color with tissue paper and elephant ear leaves is super cute. So is gifting your gals island style robes to wear on your wedding day! This bridal shower is all about fun in the sun and enjoying your gal crew.

Don’t forget to have some fun! Get out there and glow in the dark hula to your favorite jams! Take lots of photos, enjoy all the little details. Even if you don’t do everything, maybe these pictures will inspire some ideas of how to make it your own!
